I was just about to take my Christmas tree down on the 5th when I read an article by English Heritage which advocates following the medieval tradition of keeping your Christmas decorations up until 2 February so as to bring cheer to the winter months. It is such a miserable day today I am so pleased to have my Christmas tree lights still sparkling  :D

Understandable in these times - however, in Medieval times people wouldn't have celebrated, or put decorations up until Christmas Eve... Also the strictly kept Advent weeks before  Christmas meant no celebrations, and no rich food either until after 4pm on Christmas eve

It looks like all the Christmas Lights have been taken down around hear and the brown garden waste bins seem to be having Christmas trees poking out the top all our decorations are down packed away for hopefully next Christmas and when we went for our afternoon cup of tea at the local garden centre all the festive decorations have been removed from the shelves except the one they where reducing to sell off so by by Santa see you next Christmas  :D
