Hi folks, just started picking some cucumbers and they taste very bitter towards the stem end. I've been picking out all the male flowers, so what else am I doing wrong? Regards to you all, Kev

I assume they are greenhouse cucumbers that should not be pollinated, if they do they can get bitter. 

I found it very difficult to keep on top of removing the male flowers, some always seemed to get missed despite checking them twice a day.  I now only go for all female varieties in doors.

As you are probably aware I can't describe myself as an expert on growing indoor cukes  , so given that you seem to have been doing the right things regarding avoiding pollination of your particular cukes I'll just post THIS article in the hope it may help.

('All female' cucumbers can still produce a few male flowers - my Picolino F1 all-female ones already have!)
