How much for eggs, & does the size matter?
« on: August 02, 2010, 21:56 »
I've just done a search on how much to charge for my, our, OH's chook eggs. People have said about a £1.00 per half dozen but I would like to know does it matter what size they are before selling??

Our chooks are starting to lay nicely, and the eggs are small but growing in size every time they've laid.

And, how do you size your eggs, it is by weight isn't it, and could someone tell me, what weight is what size please??

My hens eggs go for a donation of £1 per half dozen (I am the most expensive around here but they are fed on organic feed which costs 2 or 3 times the price of other feeds) and the customers get assorted colours and sizes.
Staffies are softer than you think.

As you are only selling your spare eggs, you don't need to worry about weights or sizes.  Once people start to eat your lovely fresh eggs, they won't care how small they are, they are still lovely!!   :D

they are still lovely!!   :D

I know that now...... It was actually a shock, the difference between shop 'free range' eggs, and our own free range eggs.

Did our firsts yorkshire pudds at the weekend and they had a lovely yellow colour to them, not a bland pale colour. and the taste....... 8) 8)

Lets see what a cake's like..... I'll probably be scrapping it off the top of the oven..... :D

We'll keep you posted on what happends........

When I worked in London in a former life, I used to sell my eggs at work.  Once a young engineer bought 6, but never bothered again.  I said to him once, you've never bought anymore eggs from me, was there something wrong with them?

No, he replied, an egg's an egg!   :(

Infidel!!!!
