To break a habit of a lifetime this is a post about .....wait for it ...... veggies!!!

I've been putting my seed order together for my back garden and green house and i was wondering if any of you had grown the following and what you think of them!!!???

Jalapeno chillis (i make a lot of chilli jam and would like to freeze them whole for adding to chillis etc - anygood?)

Gourmet peppers (sweet bell peppers)
Courgette F1 defender
Cucumber F1 Bella

I'm still waiting for my allotment (9 months now!!!) so no BIG ideas just a few to keep me motivated!!!

Jalapenos - be careful with variety, as we all recently learned they can range from nothing to decent heat, depending on type

Bella - never grown

Defender - good

bell peppers - none I so far tried did as well as conical eastern European types, under same conditions, next to each other, incomparable difference in productivity

I LOVE habaneros, and will try growing some. Saved some seed but they nay be F1's so will buy as well if I come across - or may buy a plant that's been started off

No idea about anything Wildone, will just copy!

Have you got any names for the conical Eastern European types of pepper Gobs?  I find the bell peppers don't have much taste, and wold like to try something a bit different!

They are a cooking sort of pepper though with thin flesh, so I did not like them as I like to have them thick fleshed and for salads, well just gobble down as it were.

Very good for roasting though! 8)

Others were complaining of jalapenos being very mild this year, tracks.  How did you grow yours?
