You need to see active signs of dieback on the leaves, which is how Roundup works. Some folk will plant almost immediately after the spray dries but there's always the chance of residual spray on the ground affecting what you want to put in so wait a few weeks when it's more certain and then plant.

Make sure it doesn't rain soon after you apply it too.
Cheese makes everything better.

hi , i usually wait 10-12 days , once i see the weeds / grass starting to flop over i start to dig over ,  the weeds i miss are allowed to get upto 3-4 inches then i hit them again with the round up , works  for me

You can go on the ground 6 hours after use i think, but to start working the ground you want to wait untill its all died back like trillium says.
Thanks
Kris

I just had a face full of it, attempting to spray nettles in the greenhouse & not realising the nozzle was backwards.
Hope I don't flop over

 make sure you have a very very good wash if you feel at all unwell get to an A&E

Back to OP I'd leave it till you see the tips start to yellow at this point it should have got to the root system as well, theres a "new" weedkiller out his year called "Resolva" supposedly a 24hr weedkiller how good it is I don't know. We sell it at work but I've had no feedback yet. Might buy some and try it.

 I'm hoping I washed it off before it reached my root system, RK!
(thanks Richy, sitting with a cuppa now waiting to see if I feel funny  :D)
Those nettles have been treated FOUR times, and still I'm finding lovely new healthy shoots sprouting from the "dead" stems  :tongue2:

When I got my new plot last year (Sept) I went over the whole lot with Roundup 3000 Ultra (concentrate) three times... I mixed it double the directions and it killed everythiing in sight... Since i've been digging getting ready for this season all the roots that are being dug up have quite a bit of new growth on them.  >:( >:(

We used this last year, works a treat, sprayed the weeds and it was browning leaves within 12 hours :D
