started and now stopped laying!

We had outr first egg at the beginning of the week and then 2 more. Very exciting!

But we have not had any more for 4 days now :

. I have seen the chicken in question in the nest box a couple of times but nothing! I think her poo is has been quite wet for about a week now as well and this morning I noticed a white blob in it about the size and shape of a normal poo but all white and more jelly looking :? .

Any ideas what's going on? She seems fine otherwise. Comb bright red and eating/drinking ok. I held her last night and she seemed fine. No egg stuck that I could see or feel.

Think it can take them a little while to get into the swing of things when they first start. My ducks were certainly a bit erratic. If she looks well I wouldn't worry particularly.

As to the poo, Aunty Sally is the expert and there is a poo thread in the poulty info section (sorry, haven't managed the link thingy where you get things to go blue and click on them :oops: )

Two of mine started laying about a month ago - the bantam only laid one egg and stopped - the other laid 4 in total and has stopped too. I think it is the bad weather and that maybe they won't start until Spring. OH isn't best pleased!
