There you go Foxy!  The one on the left is a little smaller (this was the one with splayed legs) than the one on the right. I have no idea of their sex tho'. Got any ideas?....I'm hoping there's one of each :D

Liking the gift babe?

How on earth can you tell the difference babe? are the colours coming out already? Even if i had pictures of a chick of both sexes i wouldn't be able to tell. Bigfoot is obviously the alpha male... he only wants sons!

Oh gawd dont rub it in FCG! I think Bigfoot is trying for a football team
I will be using Sassquatch next year if Bigfoot carries on like this!
Faverolles are an unusual chicken in that like peacocks the cock colour is very different from the male, so any dark feathers is a rather  big clue as to sex and you can be more or less certain at around 10days...
In this pic the girl is on the left.....

Might be wrong but I think gender is defined by the mum in birds as it is the females that are heterzygotic (ZW) and the males are ZZ. Well this is how it is for ducks. In mammals the females are XX and males are XY and therefore are the ones that define the gender of offspring. Think your girls are to blame Foxy :?

The alternative is to blame Sod's Law, all of my three completely unrelated ducklings this year are boys :(

when mine hatched, i was hoping it was 3 girls and a boy, as you could see the difference. so i had littlefoot, minifoot, twofoots and missyfoot

twofoots is now living with my friend in the village..... i promise to tell her soon that its not a girlie.... but she wanted one so badly as they were so pretty  :D

and faverolles grow so big, so fast. its unreal
