hi can any body tell me if i mix a bit of sand with my soil will this stop the carrot worms or what ever eats them?
i got told so but i am not to shure?

It will (hopefully) make them grow nice and straight if there are no stones in there, thats why its recommended, but it wont keep that naughty fly away

The only way is to cover the crop with fleece, or put a polythene fence around them, at least 24" high. The "worm" is the larva of the carrot root fly.

I sometimes wonder where folk get this sort of information from. :mad:
