can anyone confirm if they stop growing in height once the flower head starts to grow???

no, they carry on upwards until the flower is fully open, then that's it

Once the flower is fully open that is the final height,I definitely agree with that. I was chuffed to bits with mine last year,I got it to 11ft 8" on my plot in my first season and on an open site!

Thanks for the good news. We have a competition on our site this year and mine have just started to form flowers and at  only 4foot now i thought i had no chance
