Title: asparagus
Post by: millierose on January 02, 2012, 08:09
hello
We planted asparagus for the first time last spring and we were told to cut it down in the autumn when it turned yellow, which it  hasn't really done! so any advice on should we cut it down now?

thanks for that link, on balance it looks OK to leave until spring to cut down and fertilise them then.
Thanks again

As long as they are well supported that will be OK. The wind can rock them and push them over which may expose the new shoots to the weather.

I would cut them now and get the bed tidy.
