Title: Table birds - North East suppliers?

Hi everyone,

I have kept an eye on the poultry suppliers list and I haven't yet found one near enough to me to be worthwhile (ie, cost of chooks vs cost of fuel to collect said birds).

Does anyone know of any suppliers within a 30 mile radius of Durham City Centre who have RIR's or any other large table birds from chicks that they can recommend?

P.S.  sorry for putting this in the Hen House but wasn't sure where else to post!  :oops:

Hi Suzi, are you looking for day olds?  and how many?  We are getting some from Poulet who posts on the RC forum, and I know he has deliveries all over.  He had one down to Kent last week I think it was and went through Cambs Suffolk and Essex, he also goes down to Devon once a fortnight and the other day his delivery driver brought us some poultry crates and said that he'd been to Falkirk the previous day!

Its worth talking to him if you wanted say a dozen, because he will arrange to meet you somewhere convenient or perhaps leave some with another rearer near to you.

And no, I have no vested interest in him and his business, but I just find that he is so helpful and accomodating!!!!

yes, day olds (after I've done some research into how to look after them).

Thanks GA! I was hoping for around a dozen, and also eventually to get a cockerel from a different supplier to keep me with a regular supply of chicks for my dinner!

I'll forward his email to you where he sent me pdf's of the 3 types of meat chicks he breeds Suzi, then you could get in touch later when you are ready and see if he can help you!  I know he will if he can!!!!
