I put some manure done in my two long beds in November in the tunnel and was wondering how often I should water the empty beds to aid the breakdown of the manure?
Is there a general rule for this sort of thing?

As long as they are just damp it will be fine.

I'm just wanting to make sure the worms and bacteria does its job in breaking it all down etc....

I was watering mine every two weeks up till the beginning of the year but the water table on the site has risen so high now that the beds in the PT are nicely damp all the time (despite the polythene being trenched down to a depth of 1 1/2 feet). At this time the beds won't dry out much anyway so you should be fine with just doing it every couple of weeks just keep an eye that it doesn't get too wet.

i'm not watering in the tunnel at all at the moment, the beds seem damp enough.
if you are concerned you could cover with black plastic sheeting.

Half an hour with the sprinkler every week is my routine at this time of the year to keep a 3 inch covering of pony-muck just damp enough to break down
