A few days by the sea, a first for 18 months and a meal at an Italian restaurant.

The last 5 posts have made me deeply envious

We had pasta with prawns in a tomato sauce, followed by raspberries from the freezer set in jelly, fresh strawberries from the garden, ice-cream and a bit of squirty cream just because we could.  So I actually did alright, just like the sound of all yours better  :tongue2:

Found some brioche buns on offer during the last shop so I'll be putting something on those today with green leafy stuff from the GH. Just picked some rhubarb so that'll be enjoying the company of some custard as a special treat too.

I picked it, I stewed it, I CBA to eat it.... I'll try again today.

It was supposed to be pouring down today and the plan was for sawhedge, mash and a cabbage covered in spoonstanding but it's bright sunny and warm  ::) I don't want to stand in the kitchen cooking in this heat so plan b is a nuked spud with tuna/mayo or beans.

I have plans for some D---io Tomato and Basil sauce for meatballs, as it is now exactly 1 year old.  I thought I might heat it and pour over wholewheat pasta.  Somebody said it is better for one.   Hope I like it, never eaten it before. !   Mrs B

Mutti passata and basil in a glass bottle is worth checking out for lazy pasta pouring. Glass jars so you can use as little as you need for a meal and reseal.   ;) Much better than other brands I've tried. Available in snasbods, ocado and probably elsewhere.

The rest of the potato and broad bean salad, asparagus and mangetout peas and some grilled fish.  It felt really summery  :D
