A friend happened to get the same bus as me into Town this morning. It was very windy. but bright and sunny. She said she was going to walk up to the end of the pier and back, so I went as well.
Almost finished and got to the bit were the pier meets a big building - The theatre.
She stopped and pointed out that the tide was splashing right up and over, as she said it a wave came over and she got the full brunt, I was behind her and just got a few large splashes on my jeans and fleece.
We said goodbye and went our own way. Mine was into a store where the hand driers did a fairly good job of drying me off. Don't know where she went !
Must be worth £250 :lol: :lol: Mrs Bouquet

Mrs. B's story reminds me of when I used to live in Hastings:
There is a section of the concrete promenade near the pier which has surface rain drains near the edge whose outlets are about half way down the seaward side of the promenade.
It all used to work as intended and with no drama unless there was a combination of a high tide, rough sea, and ladies of a certain age in their floral frocks unlucky enough to be standing right on top of one of the drain holes when a big wave hit the aforementioned outlet and was forced upwards at great speed!

(I'd like to claim I did used to warn them about their imminent and unexpected douche, but I was only in my teens and somehow always seemed to forget. :blush: :lol:)

Wish I'd had a video camera when our tortie cat Daphne was sitting under a snow-covered yew tree that is just outside our back window. She was on the prowl for birdies when one landed on an upper branch, so she jumped up and got totally covered in snow!

When poor old Daffers got the snow avalanche was she embarrassed and look around to see if anybody was watching :ohmy:
A good you-tube watch is the Budweiser Horses, when they get let out into a field full of snow. :D Mrs Bouquet
