We have!
Great for the greenhouse. We have a pump in our waterbutt, so it doesn't use from the main unless we've run out of  rainwater!  The timer is easy to programme and very flexible.  Last year we had it on three times a day for half an hour and could override if necessary.  You can get the water right to the roots of toms etc.
Thinking of getting an extension kit this year. :nowink:

We have two of these which we have used in the greenhouse at home for the past two years, run off mains with a Hozelock timer thingy and had great success. As Chrysalis said, you can get the water right into the roots, and the timer means no over-watering and no waste.
Not sure if they would work on a gravity flow from a butt though, will have to experiment later and see.

Pardon my language, but we do use the hozelock aquapod with the "buttpump"  :nowink:

It's fine!

I'm thinking (read Hoping!) they will work if the barrel is full enough and high enough, because basically it is just a fancy dripper system. If it doesnt, then maybe have to look at solar/battery pumps.

thx for the info, are there sparges on the ends of the pipes or is it just and open pipe? do u find it gets blocked from water butt debris?

The timer runs on a battery, so no need for electricity cabling.
The ends of the spurs are like little watering can roses.  There is a little stream of water emitted.  We find no debris gets in, cos our butts are enclosed (can I say that in polite company??), and the pump won't function if there's not enough water (i.e the dregs don't go into the pump....).

Hope you can find a good solution to your watering. :nowink:
