small, Welsh and almost certainly bonkers, but can be tamed with Talisker, if required

Have just had a call from them - it's not a old fracture, or her teeth growing wrong nor is it an abscess. It appears to be a jaw abnormality where it is growing into the wrong shape. However I have just given them permission to do a biopsy to see if it is cancerous and the results of that won't be known until it has been to the lab  :(

I am hoping that if it is cancer then we have caught it early and they they can do something about it  :)

Poor Rosie and poor Joy, know what you are going through ..... the waiting is horrid for you. Hoping results are clear and they can do something about the abnormal growth.

Big hugs. xx

Both me and my Rosie (English Setter of 11 months) wish you luck.  Pets do worry us (just like the kids do).   :)
Now what shall I do today?

fingers crossed, if it is just an abnormality then that is fine - it certainly doesn't hurt her so we will leave it alone (unless it grows really huge and starts to get in the way) if it is cancer then we shall have to deal with that in due course.

well, it's not an abscess nor is it her teeth. The prognosis is looking more like a tumour. Apparently there are 2 types that can cause this growth and our vets haven't seen either before. It could be benign in which case we can leave her as she is with a big jaw or if it is malignant then she will have to have half her jaw removed. Results should be in in about a week. In the meantime she goes back on Monday for a post op check up.
