Title: 'Fertiliser' bags
Post by: mike2006 on September 16, 2006, 20:52
I'm going back about 15 years now (that was the last time I obtained some from a skip), but can you still get those heavy-duty polythene 'fertiliser' bags that came brand-new, and had NPK ratings printed on them.

I enquired locally the other day, but all they had is those blue-coloured builders' Rubble Bags.  They're almost as big but the material is much thinner (like eveything else these days!).

Have the EU phased them out for some reason.

i used to get them from a few mates who worked at kemira. but they have stopped giving them away because they were being found down country lanes etc (fly tipping).they had complaints of  certain local councils and it ended there.

kemira, yes that was one supplier, I still have a few and 'patch' them with sticky tape when they get split.  They're ideal for compost etc, and last for years.
