Looking forward to a new tomato (to me)
« on: May 30, 2023, 18:19 »
Good afternoon gardeners,

 Costoluto Fiorentino?
Tomato- Costoluto Fiorentino seeds | The Seed Collection
A Italian heirloom variety from Florence producing large fleshy beefsteak type tomatoes up to 10cm across. Vigorous indeterminate vines bear fruit that is heavily ribbed and slightly flattened, making it ideal for slicing and eating raw. Also excellent grilled or when used in sauces.  Two plants have just showed their heads above ground. :D
Cheers,  Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

I grew that last year, I found it a bit later than the other varieties but once it got going a very tasty tomato.  It's the ribbed ones in the picture

I did it last year. Lovely flavour and dense texture. Thought I’d re order for this year but by mistake ordered Costolutto Genovese. I think Costolutto means chop in Italian, the idea being they have a “ meaty” texture, anyway I hope the Genovese is as good as the Fiorentino!
