Hi, do any of you have a scrap engine lying around? I’m in need of a good cylinder head, but all the ones on eBay seem to be in the USA with £20+ p&p.

spark plug thread?

If so, how about a heli-coil repair?

Hi Gwiz

It’s for my Hayterette that’s still in the to do pile. My local reconditioners, quote £25 to heli-coil the head, so if I can find a used head in good condition then hopefully I’ll save some beer vouchers.

Result!, Popped into my local auction this week on the of chance they may have an old B&S engine. Found a choice of two 5HP vertical shaft engines both with good plug threads, one of which I won for £5 plus 90p premium much better deal than the one on eBay at £23 “for spares or repair”.
Just need to pick it up and find time to fit the head.
