hi all,can i just ask if i need to "stop" outdoor tomatoes ?
-
I REMEBER reading somewhere to stop them around end of July or August so tomatoes get a chance to ripen but cant remeber, sure someone will come along an answer
-
If you mean nip out the top after the final truss, I would have said yes...
-
are they bush or cordon tomatoes, as both kinds can be grown outside? :)
-
there bush varieties.koralik and amateur.

Shouldn't need to as being determinate they grow to the right size and then call it a day. In theory.
However come the back end of the season the usual trick is to pinch out any new competitor flower trusses that will take plant effort away from ensuring that all the earlier produced fruit ripens properly.
