The ultimate Flymo DM?
« on: May 10, 2010, 10:50 »
Browsing Ebay just now and saw this neatly adapted DM. Could this be the ultimate low-budget small garden machine? Honda power and a compact DM frame? Would have been nicer with a more modern GX110 but there you go.
I wish I had a whole shed full of DMs to sell because they seem to be fetching some insane prices on Ebay at the moment, starting prices on some auctions are £120, for a DM?!?!?!?!?!
Blimey! You mean you can *grow* things in soil?

Seriously, search the Rotovators/Aerators section of Ebay for Flymo. Don't put DM as many folk don't know they're called that and label them as 'Briggs and Stratton rotovator'. You should find some on there, and most'll have pretty high start prices.

Found an excellent site on you tube which gave me a breakdown of a full rebuild and service of a Flymo DM rotovator ( Briggs and Stratton 3hp). This was complete with pictures and voice instructions. Hope this helps someone, as I was driven nearly to distraction to start mine.

hi
I have bought a Flymo dm and its a great rotivator - It does what i want it to and the briggs and stratton engine is very reliable

Does anyone know where i can get some land wheels for it and the guard from the front?
Also i have seen buckets for them to make them in to wheelbarrows

thanks

I bought a DM new in the early eighties from a newly opened Tesco garden centre in Braintree, it was boxed and needed minimal assembly and oil putting in the engine.
The cost? £100,the chap I sold it to for £40 in the early nineties still uses it with nothing major having gone wrong.
