Stupid potato question
« on: April 25, 2007, 00:39 »
So the volunteer spuds have come up so I carefully dug them up from the old potato bed.. they look fine enough, not green or anything, are they still okay to eat? They seem like perfectly good potatoes except for the fact they were producing foliage/sprouts but they're not all dried out and wrinkled or rotten or soft either.

Just making sure there isn't something horribly wrong with them before eating them...
wistfully hoping to one day be mostly organic gardener in North London.

They'll be fine at this time of year (but would rot down if allowed to develop).   Knock off all sprouts / roots and eat soon-ish.  Store unwashed in the fridge until eaten.

Watch out for slugs and slug damage.
