Rhubarb - Can I still use it?
« on: July 22, 2009, 17:08 »
Hi,

Totally daft question probably, but I have just read the Christmas Hamper post, and saw one person was making Rhubarb & Ginger Jam. So can I still use mine then. I am the only one that eats it in our house, and it seems such a waste. We have two big plants and they have sprouted again.
Would it be ok to make jam or any thing else Rhubarby with?

T this time of year I leave my Rhubard to 'die off' and replenish itself for next year. I pick the last lot at the end of June and it then has a 'rest' until next spring.

The jizz is don't pick it after mid summer's day. Not sure if that's right but that's what I've done.
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

Yeah ive stopped picking mine to , which is such a shame as its growing amazingly still.
I'm very important. I have many leather-bound books and my apartment smells of rich mahogany.

I've stopped picking mine too - so that the leaves can replenish the energy for next year.
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...
