Hello everyone
« on: June 20, 2020, 16:27 »
Hi everyone, this is the first allotment/garden forum I've joined. I'm a novice in the allotment circle. I had a mini plot a couple of years ago and have just taken over a half plot. Just getting to know what will grow and what won't. I wanted it mainly for a small polytunnel for growing tomatoes and the rest is a bonus. I inherited an asparagus bed, raspberries, loganberries and rhubarb. The soil is clay, this is my second season and have begun to realise that there is more to growing fruit and veg than just planting the seeds.

Welcome to the forums and congrats on your upsized allotment  :D

Nice lot of soft fruit there  :)

Yes, there can be more to it, but so much is luck and the weather, you'll get different things that work every year - just like the rest of us
I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days all attack me at once...

Hi there & welcome to the site. I’m looking to finally get a poly tunnel this autumn, so we can compare notes  :D

Hi Margaret

Another new joiner here.  I've also just got a half plot.  Where are you?  I'm Aberdeen, so it'd be interesting to see what works where.  Although comparing tomatoes will be a non-starter - I'm allergic!  :D
