Hi,

Just surfing the internet for some inspiration for the plot and came across this site. https://www.gardenfocused.co.uk/calendar-veg-personalised.php
you tick yes or no of what you want to grow and it plans the year for you.

I've just done mine:-

CROP ROTATION PLOT 1
French Beans
Peas / mangetout

CROP ROTATION PLOT 2
Brussels Sprouts
Cabbage - Spring
Cabbage - Summer
Cauliflower early summer
Cauliflower early autumn
Swede

CROP ROTATION PLOT 3
Potatoes
Tomatoes
Sweet Peppers

CROP ROTATION PLOT 4
Beetroot
Carrots
Leeks
Onions Sets
Onions Seeds
Parsnips

ANYWHERE / PERMANENT
Asparagus
Courgettes
Cucumbers - ridge
Squashes and pumpkins
Lettuce
Radish
Rhubarb
Sweetcorn

Would you say that looks about right?  I will be planting spuds in pots.

Thanks
Dear God, Please can you stop the wind and rain and bring on the nice weather. Amen

HI, (Adapted from above).

I've five beds which I will be using for my main beds, How would you do a four year crop rotation or is it best to keep it to three year rotation?  This it what I was thinking?

CROP ROTATION PLOT 1

Peas / mangetout

CROP ROTATION PLOT 2
Brussels Sprouts
Cabbage - Spring
Cabbage - Summer
Cauliflower early summer
Cauliflower early autumn
Swede

CROP ROTATION PLOT 3
Beetroot
Carrots
Leeks
Parsnips

CROP ROTATION PLOT 4
Would like a bed on there own
Onions Sets

Greenhouse
Tomatoes
Sweet Peppers

Pots
Potatoes

ANYWHERE / PERMANENT
Asparagus
Courgettes
Cucumbers - ridge
Squashes and pumpkins
Lettuce
Radish
Rhubarb
Sweetcorn

Thanks

Have you looked at John's rotation plans here
Crop Rotation - Allotment & Gardens

3,4 or 5 year plans.

Personally I don't worry about set plans, as they are often too restrictive for a small plot and the kind of things I grow. I just make sure that I do not follow a crop with the same thing at the next planting time, it gives much more flexibility.

its good to be back had a problem with the PC for several days anyway I tend to a agree with Mumo  I don't do a garden plan anymore because I made quite a few razed beds and having numbered each bed I keep an RB book so the next season I look up the bed number and plant the bed accordingly the spare ground then goes for either potatoes on one plot with the other spare plot mainly for marrows pumpkin runner beans

as a rule of thumb I don't manure the potato plot but manure the other spare plot basically rotating the manure on after the potato harvest if that makes sense
