Egg in my potatoes
« on: August 09, 2011, 13:10 »
While digging up my Desiree potatoes on the allotment I unearthed a whole unmarked hen's egg. Hens are kept a good 400 yds from the allotment. Surprisingly my mother-in-law did exactlythe same in her garden in Birmingham!
Any suggestions?

A fox might have pinched the egg from somewhere and buried in your potatoes for later. :D

Could this be the answer to one of the biggest questions of all time?

Now we know the egg came first as they are grown on potato plants!

i also found a hens egg amongst my potatoes, not sure if it was a fox or rat that left it there though.  We do have chickens near by but i don't think chickens have learnt to put lion stamp on there eggs as they lay them.  lol

Squirrels. They're mental. I dug up a piece of birthday cake once, complete with icing. Interestingly, that was in my potatoes as well.
