« on: July 19, 2012, 18:56 »
My other half like to drink mint tea, can anyone recommended a variety of mint that would make a strong tea?

I would suggest spearmint or peppermint. I sometimes make mint tea from fresh leaves from my own plants. :)

Argyllie's right  ;)

I used to use applemint to make iced mint tea - but it's not a strong mint flavour as applemint is low in menthol.

We had Moroccan mint amongst the herbs at work this year as I was asked for it (by mint tea drinkers) and that was a really strong clean flavour  :)  Was really popular and snapped up every time it came in  :)

Well New Shoot had plants where she works so it must be available in some garden centres. I've done a quick google and seeds can be bought online. :)

Herbs are kind of going out of season now so will be a limited selection at most garden centres.

This lot have it and every other herb you could think of.  I've bought from them before and they are lovely.  Plants usually come bare-root wrapped in moss with a lolly stick label  :D

That's a really interesting list there -- couple of things I shall try there I think  :)

Thank you
