Gosh Burmese are so naughty

A lot of people won't believe you without some pictures
Self-sufficient in rasberries and bindweed. Slug pellets can be handy.

We are presently catless for the first time in many years. My OH wants to get another.  But, the furniture and carpets are only just beginning to recover....  :(

I know they are lovely but the damage the things do is costly and quite upsetting at times.

Peter calmed down when he was about 3 years old.
But when I say calmed down, I only mean a little bit!
It helped when we got another cat for him to play with.  ;) (have a word with Caralou)

Peter is 5 now and still behaves like he is a kitten......a clumsy one at that!

He wrecked everything.......curtains and blinds, door frames, wallpaper, carpet, the fish tank...

I had to put a child lock on the fridge to stop him getting in, but he fathomed that out after a few weeks.

As I am sure you will know though, Burmese go on a mad crazy wrecking spree, and then they come up and fuss you and are the most affectionate animals ever, and you forgive them because they are so cute!

Where did yours come from? Peter was a reject show cat.  :(
I think the in breeding may make them a bit daft.

I wouldn't describe Peter as 'intelligent'!  :tongue2:
Bonkers perhaps?  :)
Obviously we love him to pieces.  :nowink:

I couln't find a siamese kitten anywhere last year, so finally had to get one in Paris (see other thread somewhere).
I felt that it was a mistake, but you know how it is

How do you treat a 24/24 hyperactive cat ?      ::)

I wouldn't even try

This one's learnt how to do J turns by bouncing off the walls.  A bit like those super-bouncy little balls that used to be the rage.  But with fur on.      :D

In my experience with Peter...... you can't! Expect your house to get ruined, oh and if you go away on holiday, make sure you are prepared for the cattery to say " I don't think your cat is suited to this environment". Effectively banning your little furry bundle of trouble!!

If cats could have ASBO'S..... Burmese would be on the list!

No, I can't believe that anything's worse than a Siamese    :D

So far, she hasn't actually spoilt anything, though.   (Well, apart from the brass vase that she dented).    But she murders her scratching posts.

My Siamese comes charging down the stairs hits the front door, flips over and skids across the laminate floor towards the kitchen..when she hears me open a cupboard door for her pouches ::) Not a very dignified approach
She can even tell which door that is, cos she doesn't do the same trick for the other cupboards
