 :wacko:  hi, i just wanted to ask if it is normal for a chicken to have different poos every other day,  1 day one of my girls has caramel colour poos, and the next it is normal, i havnt changed there diet, its the same stuff they were on when i got the a week ago, i do apologise about the subject, and i hope i havnt put you off your chocolate.  thanks

It's normal and the yello ones are probably cecal droppings.  A Chickens digestive system has chamber called the ceca which is separate from the smal intestine which produces the normal waste. This chamber is emptied 5 or six times a day and produces much more liquidy and usually foul smelling and darker droppings, though they can be light brown or yellowish too.  They are quite distinct from the normal grainy grey or brown droppings with a creamy top (the urinates) produced by the small intestines.  It is this which is probably confusing you.
