Charlotte potatoes
« on: July 16, 2009, 18:13 »
Sometime ago in a run of comments about new potatoes I mentioned Charlottes and keeping them small as salad potatoes. Someone replied and said if they get bigger they make the best jacket potatoes imaginable. This year I planted more and they got bigger and guess what they do make the best jacket potatoes imagineable - so whoever that was - thanks for the tip. Good one.

DD yes it was you and I was fairly certain it was but could not be as sure as you were -- how on earth do you remember all the postings ??

I don't!

But this one rang a bell and I simply did a forum seach of my posts containing the word "baked" to confirm it.

Handy little facility to make you look clever!

They make damned fine mash as well.
Unless you are frying chips (which I don't), is there any need for another type of spud?
