a lovely idea colleensi , i may even may try putting some herbs around my shed where i will sit , the idea of smelling them while having a tea breack is wonderfull .

just need a shed now :D :lol: :lol:

Try a rosemary so the the shed door has to scrape gently against it every time you open up the shed or close it.... It's lovely.

(I designed this with great thought and care of course!)  :) 
                                           Ok so it was pure chance  ::) but it's rather nice!  ;)

There are many different varieties of mint , I had a collection in previous garden.favourites were chocolate mint and  pineapple mint ,maybe a raised box with several mints growing together.
