hi , my runner beans are very sparce of leaves,but have a good few flowers on,,is there a reason for this please, regards mick

So long as it hasn't actually lost any then don't worry about it; too many leaves would suggest overfeeding with nitrogen and that would be at the expense of the flowers.

There will be more leaves produced as the plant produces side-shoots; just keep them well watered!  ;)

I always despair as I watch my beans creep up the canes looking feeble but then all of a sudden they seem to turn into strong bushy plants!!!

I'm sure they do it to wind me up every year  ::)

mine have only just decided to start growing , anyone elses still only 1ft tall .

glad i left them in though

Mine - several different types all on one bean frame all planted at different times - are just a little slow off the mark this year but I have got baby beans forming!!   :happy:
