Post by: Oliveview on July 09, 2010, 11:20
Iīve quite a few turks turbin pumpkin growing and as it is the first time I have grown them I am not sure when to harvest them.  Has anyone here grown them?  Some are the size of a smallish football.
Any thoughts?
Thanks

I had a good crop last year.

When they change colour. Than leave them to dry and cure in a dry cool place. Leave a good stalk on when you cut.

Mine are yellow on the ībottomībit and cream on the top.  My neighbour said some folk were asking them if they had pumpkin to sell- as they sell lots of their tomatoes and peppers, so I thought as I have so many Iīd try to sell some!
We have picked and roasted the orange dream pumpkin, they are nice.  By īnormalī pumpkin are getting HUGE last year I had one, this year I have 7 so far and maybe another coming along!!  Think we will live on pumpkin soup through the winter :D
