If you get a message from DHL saying 'your delivery can now be tracked'  DO NOT open it.  We were expecting a delivery which often comes via DHL so Paul opened it last Thursday.  It's not a scam to try and get money out of you, but sends the same message to other numbers.  Since he opened it, Paul has had abusive, threatening and messages of a sexual nature.  We went into EE this afternoon, they can block the number but he would still get the messages.  The only way to block it completely was to change his number.  We have by doing this lost a lot of the Aps he had and we are now working through all his contacts (private and business) to let them know of the change.

Interesting, Wighty!

A good chum emailed all his chums/contacts about a firm called Interparcel, with similar issues only the other day! They are an online parcel service that arrange couriers and have a tie up with UPS, Hermes and the like.

I suppose as there's so much home delivery around now, it was bound to happen, but thank you for your advice!

I have signed up to the free Which? Scam service, where hopefully you get tipped off to potential scams.  Time will tell whether it helps!

This morning a text at 7am "Hermes, missed your delivery today please visit - website link given - to book redelivery and pay surcharge (spelt suBcharge) fee of 1.45 (GBP)

Obviously a scam on so many levels.

We've heard on the radio that most delivery firms are now being named, along with the Post Office and some food shop deliveries.    It was also reported on on the One Show last night.  Although  Paul opened it he did double check with our paint supplier (who sometimes uses DHL for smaller deliveries) and they advised us that as it was our shed and fence paint  order it was coming via Hampshire Freight. We think this is why, because he didn't 'follow through' with the link, that it then went off in a different 'direction'.  His phone went mad over the weekend and he was getting quite upset about the nature of some of the messages he was getting.    We now know of several other       people who have had the same message.
