I have two large half barrels in which I planted tulips last autumn.
I want to grow runner beans with a cane wigwam in those containers, as soon as the tulips finished.
My question is, do I have to yank out the bulbs and store them for next autumn or can they be left in and plant the beans on top of it?
Thanks in advance.
Peter

I'd stuff the beans on top - nitrogen for the bulbs next year!

Thanks for the reply, I will leave them in. (less work. :D )

I second what DD said and just want to add what a lovely display you have. How do you stop the shelter from falling down?

Shelter?! WWII is over!
The reed fence is wired to an iron railing. :D
This is a first floor patio / roof garden. 9m X 3m
