Blackberry Rust

Hi
I have an allotment in West Sussex and have today noticed the above rust on my blackberry canes/stems - a bit on the new leaves - see above
The plant has been planted for 20+ years, is grown alone wire, cleared out and pruned of dead wood and off shoots each year
Google seems to say it’s blackberry rust, although uncommon!, is more a summer, autumn disease- most info I can see is USA biased
What options do I have and is it early onset of rust due to mild wet winter/spring
Any help/suggestions regarding this much appreciated
