There are three signs of old age. The first is your loss of memory, the other two I forget.

:pale:  :( Really sorry matilda, sure you did your best, dont beat yourself up, but it looks like these foxes are checking our chucks and ducks every night, we will all have to be extra vigilant

I don't hate foxes, after all we would all go for free range as much as possible.  The fox didn't just kill for the sake of it, he obviously had youngsters to feed and what better way to feed them with free range ducks..Rouens are big ducks as well so I don't think the fox will be able to move for a fortnight....Life deals a rough hand some days but you have to just get on with nature.  Nature will never be beaten.

That's a really pragmatic view matilda in the circumstances.

Very brave and you deserve a lot of respect.

Having such a philosophical approach like that I think is the best way to deal with such an awful event -it will also help you to move on MD. I also think you are very big hearted to be able to think like this.

i am feling sorry for u and the lose u have suffered but to say that nature will never beaten is so true could not be any futher from the truth ,
we all try our best at everything but its never enough.

my run has been built very well and i have used more then just heavy items around the edging { like cement slabs and railway sleepers }  but i am betting that oneday the fox wil get in ,i have been warned by farmers that winter is the time the foxes will become more of a probelm so i am just waiting for soemthing to happen.
