hello everyone

i cleaned out my chooks yesterday and have found a few earwigs hiding among the cracks of their house, i looked back through previous threads but there was no definite answer if they are friend or foe. any ideas what i should do with them??

I've not got an answer but I would be interested to see what people have to say.  I would have thought that the hens would see an earwig as a tasty morsel for a snack.

i would think that too but they dont seem to be bothered by them!

We often get earwigs hiding in cracks in the wood.  I don't think they do any harm, but yes the chickens do love them to eat if they can catch them!

Best to leave them alone- they won't bother your chooks, but will eat any mites that happen along!

They didn't eat the mites we had in our ark once, but there were hundreds of earwigs in there!

Maybe you have the world's only vegetarian earwigs!

My chickens see earwigs as snacks-on-legs.  They tell me they are rather delicious and crunchy.
