No 1:
4 lbs pea pods,
1 lemon,
3.5 lbs sugar,
1 gallon water,
Wine yeast.

Boil pea pods with rind of lemon until tender.
Strain on to the sugar and dissolve,
When luke warm add the activated yeast and the juice of the lemon.
Leave for 1-2 days for fermentation to start then pour into a demijohn, add airlock and allow to ferment to completion.

No2:
5 lbs peapods,
3 lbs sugar,
Wine yeast,
1 gallon water.

Same as previous, boil peapods until tender, strain onto the sugar and when luke warm add the activated yeast. Allow fermentation to start then transfer to demijohn, add airlock and allow to ferment out, bottle.

Not sure why they do not go straight into a demijohn when cool as there will be almost nothing to precipitate out as the peapods are removed when the liquid is strained on to the sugar?

Found a No 3:
3 lbs peapods,
1.2 lbs sultanas,
3 lemons,
1/2 pt strong tea,
Yeast and nutrient,
Sugar: (Dry 1.75lbs) (Med 2.5lbs)
1 gallon Water,
1/2 teaspoon Pectozyme.

Method similar, Boil peapods in water until tender, strain on to the sugar, sultanas. Allow to cool add lemon juice, tea, pectozyme, activated yeast and nutrient.
Leave 8-9 days to ferment then strain in to a demijohn and allow fermentation to complete.

Have to say my fist response to this was that is sounds like it would be rancid! But on second thoughts given I would usually just compost them what have I really got to lose other than the price of a bit of sugar and a couple of lemons. Can all go in the compost heap if it is revolting. Might ave to start saving my peapods. :D

Never made any - hate peas :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2:

First 2 are very similar and as the peapods are boiled the only the liquid is added to the sugar (the peapods don't go through the strainer) I cannot think it would come out with a strong flavour of peapods.

The third one had more stuff in it and might I suspect overpower the peapods.

If you grow peas  :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: and therefore have a supply of pods they may be worth a try.

But peas  :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: :tongue2: Yuk.
