I think this is a funny little story - but others may have experienced it

When helping me to lift my first early potatoes, my next door plotter said:
"Look! There is a mouse's den." He told me he knew cos there were the peas which the mouse had pinched from the bed next door when I had planted the Kelvendon Wonders and hidden in the potato patch.

I remembered that you guys had warned me about mice in the spring and that I should have perhaps dipped them in parafin before sowing.

WEll, last week I planted a second lot of leeks in the vacant bed where the potatoes had been and guess what I saw when watering them yesterday :!: I said to my neighbour "Look how quick these weeds have grown - almost overtaking the newly planted leeks."

"They're not weeds", he said. "They're the peas that the mouse planted for you "
So with thanks to my farmer mouse, I am looking forward to another harvest of peas among the leeks. :roll:

That's what I like to see, making use of the local wildlife to cut back on human labour.  So much more socially acceptable than using human slaves!

Thats why we have broard beans in the courgette plants,those that weren`t eaten in situ! :roll:
