I’ve been having issues getting Red Brunswick to germinate. I’ve seen a few others commenting on social media that they are also having the same problem. It is fresh seed bought this year and after 2 attempts I’ve decided that it must be a bad batch as others are saying the same thing.
Can anyone name a variety of red onion seed that they have bought fresh this year and has germinated well please?

we are trying red creole for the first time [premier seeds] sown early jan they have germinated very well in
propagator much better than borrettana another new one to us our usual ailsa craig have also germinated well
we did ok with red brunswick last year   good luck

I know this isn't the conventional round, red onion, but I've had more luck with Long Red Florence, which is an elongated, shallot type shape and is slower to bold than many red onions.  It has a good flavour, but is mild enough to use raw in salads or sandwich. It's all down to personal taste I think, as are so many things.

Red Spark for me. Unlike many other reds they also keep very well.
