grafting
« on: February 04, 2016, 09:28 »
I have wanted to do grafting, but have found it impossible to cut the parts so that they make a good join. The scions and the original branch are just too hard. I have tried using redundant prunings for practice. How do you do it?

A scapel knife (making sure I have extra blades) but I do know people that swear by the proper grafting tool that makes the squiggley slotty bit  :)

I've tried 'normal' grafting without success, I'm going to have a bash at 'bud grafting' in the spring (or whenever).

Cheers,Tony.
I may be growing OLD, but I refuse to grow UP !

"the proper grafting tool that makes the squiggley slotty bit"

is good if the scions are thick enough, otherwise it'll have to be with a knife
