Can anyone guess what caused this damage to the sweetcorn leaves?

Slug or snail I would think HH

Thanks, I normally associate slug damage with holes or chomped edges to the leaves,  not a stringy shredded look like that.

Bit of a long shot here but could it be wind damage thrashing the leaves to and flo.

Possibly caterpillars: I've seen similar damage from armyworms.

I'm not dismissing the slug theory though.

That;s funny because I was going to post the same about some of mine in the greenhouse where the ones nearest the door have had just their top leaves mightily chewed along the edges but the ones further away are ok. I thought it might have been a flying rat but the outside ones are unaffected despite being next to a stone wall where slugs and snails can hide, though I seem to be lucky as there are very few of either here.
