Grow Your Own / Will seed potatoes rot?
« Last post by jaxter on Today at 12:32 »
I’m hesitating planting these as the ground is sodden and I’m not sure if they’ll just rot away. Mine would be in a raised bed, but on a shared allotment they’d be straight into the ground. It’s looking wet again for the next 10 days, any advice?

Grey... dark, drizzle , wet , soggy and 6c.  Im not impressed with today so far.

More of the same today (despite a bright start to the day). There's also a bitter wind with it which makes it feel much colder than it is.

yes that s well worth pointing out AnneB something I must admit I hadn't thought of that although I know this to be true but I didn't get that advise from the RhS an old gardener told me this many moons ago and as I said in my previous reply we stack ours for around 12 months before using and haven't had any probs

General Gardening / Re: Size of plug plants

I would say what they call postiplugs are what most people would call a plug plant and what they call a plug plant is really a micro-plug.

Creative marketing at work there  ::)

I used to buy quite a bit from Suttons, but had a couple of awful deliveries from them a few years ago and even worse customer service when I asked for a refund.  I hope your lavenders do well and/or things have improved their end if they don’t
