But to answer the original question, I am having problems with a friendly little ginger cat pooing in the garden and upsetting my chickens by looking at them in the run. The solution was to let the chickens into the garden. I only have two, a large black Australorp and a smaller Barnevelder, but you should have seen that cat run!!! Also no more pigeons or blackbirds in the garden for that day 

I've got a neighbour coming round to collect eggs and check water and food levels while I'm away. I'll be leaving the coop door open so they can access the run without any issues, but they'll be no free-ranging so I'll make sure they've plenty to keep themselves entertained.
