I'm looking at finally putting a decent fence around my plot, and want some decent vermin protection. There seems to be a wide variety of wire mesh out there and i'm wondering what's best.

I guess the question is, should I got for the larger size (approximately 50mm holes) just to stop rabbits, or is the finer size (15mm) worth the extra money to keep mice out? It's about double the cost I guess, but a worthwhile investment?

I would stick to keep the rabbits out.

Mice and rats are experts at getting into anywhere, probably have to use poison for them, (sorry to all anti-poisoners but....  )

Yeah as I thought. I don't mind buying a few snap traps. It's them or us!

If you want to keep rabbits out remember to dig the netting into the ground at the bottom and ideally fold a good flap out. When putting up forestry fences we used to turn out a good 6 inches of netting from the bottom of the fence and turf back over it. That usually works but they are resourceful little beggars.
