Red Cabbage
« on: February 05, 2009, 20:07 »
Hello everyone,

I bought some seeds from lidl the other day and bought some red cabbage 'roodkop'. I just wondered if anyone had grown this before, only reason i ask is that there are no sow dates on the pack and i would like to input this into my planting plans!

cheers

steve

I sow mine mid-March in an unheated greenhouse, same time as a load of my other brassicas.
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

Poking around with google, it looks like about 100-110 days to mature, so that's an early-ish red cabbage.  Lidl seeds always used to have a little set of symbols and numbers on the top of the packet-back that gave sowing and harvesting months.
