Get an eagle?
I'd love to get an eagle - that is two under par for the hole.

Take two large potatoes and stick feathers in simulating a bird. Tie on either end of a wire coat hanger.Suspend the coat hanger on a string and tie that to a stake so that it swings round in the wind, like a mobile.
  Photo please MkH

Sorry Aunty can not do until I get my camera back. Its in the USA at the moment.
But they are so easy to do and providing you move them around they really work.

Not for me they didn't - first year I had this plot I strung loads of them up. When I went for my lunch, the birds had theirs - all my purple sprouters!
Did it really tell you to do THAT on the packet?

The trick is to put them at different heights with some just inches above the ground. If you then run some thin but strong black thread between them with some tin foil (take away trays cut into strips work well)attached so that they spin as well(looking a bit like a bow tie) it will deter even the bravest birds.
But you must move them around
Plus you will be able to find you plot in even the worst weather.

All birds have to spread their wings and fly Henry.  This trip will be the making of her.  And just think of the catching up you'll have when she returns your camera.  She sounds like a great young lady  :!:  :D

I used childrens kites that looked like birds of prey.  I had Leighton, who was a buzzard, an owl called Captain Beaky and Wing Commander Hawksley.  They were £5 each and worked a treat.  I tied them to lines around the garden and moved them around occasionally.  You don't have to name them, but the local children thought they were amusing.  I ordered them over t'internet.
