Sorry Min but I read this just after the first post and always wanted to say:
Have you considered the spray adhesive they use for floor tiles.

I think this is cruel and you should be ashamed !

I would have thought that  proprietary dog food contained all the necessary oils for a dog's coat

Regular brushing and combing, eg every day, might get rid of much of the hair that would otherwise be all over you and your furniture. Do it outside  :)

I have the same problem with a white cat.  And yes, the first thing I do as I walk through the door from work is get changed.  I even have a wash load that is described as 'the hairy and muddy cools' for evening and weekend clothes!

Our Jack Russell is moulting at the moment but all I do is wrap him in cling film and hoover him once a week.

NO, not really I'm joking but I did think about this catsuit for him. Here is a photo of me trying it out first. The only thing I've found is the ears are a bit itchy and might irritate him.

If at first you don't succeed, try a different method.

try chappie. my sister's shepherd moults a lot but since changing over to dry chappie and a bath every 4 months at the groomer has made a huge difference. the vet agrees that heavy moulting is diet related and this is easier to digest.

their wet food isn't' great so we use other brands for that but he only gets half a tin and half  a cup of dry each meal time anyway. as it's a complete food you don't need the wet. ours just prefer it that way.

hope that helps.

It may be worth trying diet changes to see if this helps, we have moved our dogs onto RAW recently and they have much healthier coats and done smell as 'doggie'

The other thing is as suggested plenty of grooming (done out doors) especially if there is a lot of 'dry' dead hair visible, it can be worth a weekly 20 min 'dehairing' if it reduces the in-house hair.

We always groom our dogs outside, and in spring the local bird population loves the hair for their nests!
Very often quite lost- would be more lost if I could work out where I was!- But always find my way home.....

dogs shed their coats all year round as they live in heated homes so they don't have a winter and summer coat but even out side dogs shed, not as much but they still do.
i have seen dogs that live outside all the time, that have had to be shaved completely off due to being that matted it has caused serious skin/health problems.
even short haired dogs benefit from being grooming either by a dog groomer or if you get the proper brush/combs by their owners.
