I remember reading about a munty frame on this forum but can't find it, would it be alright for my broad beans and can someone recap on its construction. :blush: :dry:

It's not usual to dig a trench for either peas or broad beans.
Broad beans are self supporting, and here is a good way of supporting peas

I've just checked in my copy of The Essential Allotment Guide, and it says in windy areas you may need to support them as you do for peas.........but this is something I've never done :D

I have had to support container grown ones in the past - mainly because of strong wind though...

You are lucky as i have to support my broad beans,i just put short canes in between them and loosely wrap some twine round them.

With broad beans it depends on the variety.
My old plot was open and windy so i grew the sutton as it's a dwarf variety so doesn't need any support, even on windy sites.
